When you dock in Barcelona, the port is literally at the foot of Las Ramblas which is like the main shopping and eating road that stretches for about a mile. There are so many places to eat here but i would recommend waiting and walking further up. If you delve into the side streets on the right you will come accross small trendy cafes that sell authentic and nouveau cuisine. One thing i would defiantely recommend is a guide book to ensure you plan your route and dont miss any of the fabulous sights. You can manage to see most of the best sights in one day and by foot if you plan it carefully. One of the unmissable sights is certainly the Sagrada Familia which is a cathedral built by Gaudi. He never actually managed to finish it and restoration work is still being carried out to this day. Gaudi designed alot of the architecture in Barcelona and each piece is unique. As well as the sightseeing, the shopping here is excellent and good value for money considering it is a city. The locals weren't all that friendly but they certainly weren't rude. I would defianately go back to Barcelona now to spend a long weekend and take a more leisurely view!
