DON'T CRUISE WITH P & O !

P & O provide food in the buffet area that is akin to school dinners. They put into container ports as destinations in places like Hong Kong (where there is a perfectly wonderful harbour, with a proper cruise terminal). I strongly suspect this is to sell their tours and to be able to charge for transfers into the city (they tried this in Shanghai, but due to a passenger revolt, subsequently offered the transfers for nothing) This cruise was worth maybe a third of what I paid for it - certainly not what I paid for and received. Stick to the US based cruise lines like RCCL, Princess and Holland America. The shore excursions on P &O are a very expensive joke -overpriced and poorly organised. The food in the main restaurant is good, to be fair as is the service. Everywhere else it is cheap junk, with little choice. The staff in the main are surly and unhelpful and the ship seems to be run more for the crew than the passengers. This was my first - and last - cruise with P & O. Other Carnival Corp. cruise lines offer so much more for your money. I cannot recommend P & O under any circumstances.
