I was very lucky to be able to stay for a night on the new Ocean Village 2 before the ship left Southampton for its maiden voyage. This was the first time that I had spent a night on board a cruise ship and I was impressed with the overall size and layout. Upon arrival, I was allocated a category BC (Sheltered Balcony) cabin. The cabin was very spacious and had plenty of wardrobe space and additional storage for my belongings. The two main restaurants provide buffet style dining which present plenty of options to choose from. The desserts and ice creams that they offer are fabulous. The facilities on board are varied to suit most tastes and range from 8 bars all uniquely designed and have very different features. The spa facilities look amazing but unfortunately we were unable to try them out. Entertainment on board varies depending on which venue you decide upon. The main theatre/stage has been equipped with an additional bar at the rear. Now, I would like to have the opportunity to have a week’s holiday on this ship due to the wonderful itineraries and facilities that the Ocean Village 2 has to offer, as I feel that one night just was not long enough.
