This was our second Med Cruise, first being on Island Star. We thought OV2 new ship, great, reallity OLD SHIP new to Ocean Village. We embarked on the Marinas and Medinas Cruise from Palm, Majorca, 01 May 07 and spent the first half an hour of our cruise stuck ten foot off Palma Quayside. No announcements were made as to the reason and non-announcements became the norm for the rest of the cruise. This meant that passengers were receiving little or no information from the Bridge. It would have been informative to have received information fromthe Bridge regarding the forthcoming stormon the last afternoon/evening. As usual nothing until the Captain announced to clear the top deck for safety reasons because of the bad sorm, but we alrady knew that was happening. He was too late. The storm, of course was nothing to do with Ocean Village (this time). The food was good if you like continental/oriental food but not much selection of British. On many occasions the food was not. The service and staff were excellent. The entertainment was more suited to an a seaside resort Show. If aiming at the 'younger' cruiser is a group of singers screaming their songs out every night, then I am glad I am not a 'young cruiser'. We could not escape these singers as they moved around each venue during the night. The visiting comedians and Elton John Look Alike acts were proper professional entertainers. We spent half of the cruise in busy container ports. They were busy and dirty and out of the way. Is this the norm for the future? We gave up on the excursions as they were very poor value for money apart from the Pompeii tour. On the cruise we could not fault with the Cabin and Restaurant staff. They weree exemplory even under storm conditions. This was indeed a MEMORABLE CRUISE for all the wrong reasons. Al/Rho
