Having already cruised on Ocean Village 1 we were very concerned by all of the negativity that has been circulating about OV2. Did we need to worry....NO! As with anyone who has been on the original ship you find yourself comparing. There are certain areas that are, in our opinion, better and some are not so good. We found Plantations and The Waterfront a definite improvement, whilst although La Luna and The Bistro had more seating capacity we preferred the location on OV1. Food was just as good though. We did miss The Blue Bar and The Oval, the new pub areas just did not hit the spot! There is no cinema which could be a problem if you are taking a transatlantic crossing but for one or two week cruises is no big deal. We did think that the use of seats instead of sun loungers on certain decks was a vast improvement as the "30 minute" sunbed rule is never observed. We found the entertainment very poor, in fact it would have been non existent if not for the wonderful Jaki Graham and the hilarious Colin Cole. Staff were always pleasant and helpful. Cabins were spacious and always kept clean and tidy. The only real problem that we encountered was the fact we could not dock in Palma, due to bad weather, on the day we were to come home. We had to be taken ashore by tender. The situation was dealt with very smoothly . Will we cruise with Ocean Village again? Absolutely!
