I was lucky enough o be invited to visit the Queen Victoria just days before her naming ceremony and maiden voyage! Upon arriving in Southampton my first impression was wow. Having been on the QM2 i wasn't sure what to expect as the Queen Victoria is a smaller ship.. Queen Victoria is a truly beautiful ship, very traditional with lots of wood and marble, an amazing lobby and beautiful public areas, bars and lounges. The cabins are light and airy although the standard showers are quite small the cabins have plenty of space. I had a look at the Princess and Queens grill suites and they are something else!! they are very spacious and the beds looked ever so comfortable!! Queens suites have a lot more room in them but what else would you expect from the top cabins on the ship! Even the inside cabins have plenty of room. The Grill restaurants are lovely and when had a look at menu the food looks fantastic, just opposite the Grill restaurants there is an outdoor courtyard for outside dining which is for the people in the grill restaurants. The Grill lounge was also very nice and is perfect for pre or post dinner drinks!! The Britannia restaurant was a lovely restaurant and also quite big with a variety of different foods on there wonderful menu!! The thing that is different about this ship to any others is the Royal Theatre, it had private boxes around the edge of it and made it look like something from the west end in London, we were lucky enough to go into the theatre at just the right time as they were rehearsing for there shows, and from what i saw the shows will be brilliant!!! Another place on the ship I would definitely recommend is the Spa WOW!! Is was amazing!! and adjoining the spa was the gym which i didn't think was that big for a ship of this size!! (not that i would use it!) but the atrium was magnificent with its wonderful stairways and stunning decor!! This ship is a wonderful 5* ship and i recommend that everyone should go on it and see just how amazing she really is!!!
