This is our third cruise with P&O and I know they have a reputation for catering to the snobbish middle-aged set, but we are a family of two thirty-something’s a teenage girl and a tween boy, so we are NOT typical… We ALWAYS enjoy the food. It is exquisitely prepared and served with a great deal of aplomb by tremendously helpful waiters. Occasionally the service for afternoon tea is patch (as I think they let loose the more inexperienced waiters on the unsuspecting patrons for a bit of exercise). We ate all of our meals in the restaurant and did not use the buffet service (we find that we put less weight on that way). Being a gym lover, I thought the gym was first class (all new Technogym kit with a sprung dance/exercise area). If asked for their opinion, the kids would give P&O and particularly the Aurora 110%. They LOVE all the organised activities and my son had a whale of a time. My only concern is that the staff on reception are not as friendly and cooperative as you would expect, but other than that, we felt that this cruise was, by far, the best we have ever had. I have high standards and P&O nearly always surpass them. Parents – if you wonder whether you can cruise with kids between 8 and 18, don’t even pause to think – book it…!
