MSC welcomed me aboard the Peosia for its launch event. Having never experienced a MSC ship before I was curious. The ships is very luxurious, very glitzy, very sophisticated – lots of brass and marble. Cabins are a good size and equipped with everything you need. There is a wide choice of bars to relax in, the funky Zebra Lounge is great fun! The only let down is that some bars have designated smoking areas and you have to walk through these to reach other areas, plus smoking didn’t seem to be ‘restricted’ to designated areas. The entertainment was outstanding, MSC threw a brilliant party. Dinner was by all accounts very good – for the majority. If you are veggie then forget it! The equivalent menu was very poor, I even had to sit and watch my fellow diners enjoy all their courses as there was not a full vegetarian menu, very disappointing. Brekkie wasn’t much better really – very very long queues at the buffet counter, cold uncooked baked beans, noisy atmosphere – a good selection of continental bread and pastries though! Overall we had a great time, but it’s obvious that the ship wasn’t entirely designed for the UK market, saying that it offers excellent value for money, especially for families, but don’t expect a huge amount of kids facilities.
