On my return from our cruise on 27th May 08, i feel i have to let others know about our holidays. read these reviews before i went and was a little bit anxious to say the least. Found a colleague who had gone on the same ship early this year in the carribean who put my mind at rest. From start to finish it was well organised from setting off from the airport, no delays somebody to meet us at manchester ready for the flight to palma. took some details re any sickness/vomiting prior to holiday. Had a very quick pick up from palma and taken to ship with complete ease. We had upgraded before we went and was not dissapointed. The staff were very polite, pleasant and nothing too much bother was a delight. Cabins were cleaned everyday, food was plentiful and of excellent quality. We did pay the small charge of updating to the Bistro and to la Luna and were not disappointed with either, had waiter service which was nice.... although i have to be honest the food in the plantation and the waterfront was plentiful, menus changed often and the sweets were to die for, although i had to stop having them as my clothes were starting to pinch a bit. Plenty of bars to choose from although connections was very popular and seating was somewhat difficult at times. however we did not eat until 8.30 at night which was our choice. The marquee had some very good shows with young entertainers who put a lot of energy into the shows. The trips although some were a bit pricey were very good, we had good guides who were very informative and made our trips enjoyable. Pompei was unbelievable, sorrento, florence were beautiful although would have liked more free time to do my own thing, Corsica a delight an untouched gem.Thought charging the kids full price over the age of 12 was disappointing i think this should be looked at. as this was our first trip where we disembarked on arriving in different countries we decided we wanted to go with the guided tours although next time we may go at it on our own as we spoke to experienced travellers who gave us a lot of guidence and they saved a lot of money doing it themselves, but you get that from experience. Getting a sunbed (or 3 in our case ) was something of an experience there is a rule that a bed untouched for 30 mins which had a towel on could be removed but to be honest not many people did anything about it but it can be a bit annoying when you see them left for hours (obviously where people have gone out for trips). This is a very relaxed and informal cruise with a varied age group although not many teenagers, so my daughter stayed with us but again she thoroughy enjoyed it too families with younger children, no drunks, louts , abusive grown ups, rowdiness . When we go on holiday we normally stay in 4* or 5* accomodation and we were not disappointed although i must say i looked inside an indoor cabin and don't think i could personally deal with seeing no natural daylight, but again we were not in our rooms most of the day so it would probably not matter. Again i would like to say well done ocean village 2 it was a delight to stay on board and we will definely be back sooner rather than later.
