This was our first cruise and a combined honeymoon and 60th birthday! The ship's decor was spectacular and the food and atmosphere in the main restaurant was wonderful, although we were not so keen on the buffet restaurants. For my husband's 60th we booked in at Harry's Supper Club for which we paid a supplement and it was probably the best restaurant I have ever been to. So good that we went back again for the last night. The vegas-style shows were not at all to our taste, nor were the participation events, but there were some very good live bands on every evening with dancing. The piano bar was a disappointment, with a poor singer and no encouragement to sing-along. The ports of call were all great, but the ship's tours were ridiculously expensive so we learnt quickly to do our own thing. However Carnival gave no advice or information on the ports other than about their own tours. In fact my main criticism of Carnival was that we felt that they were focused on extracting as much money as possible from their clients, rather than making sure we had a great holiday. Despite that, it was a great value cruise and we had a wonderful time.
