Bahamian Dollar = 100 cents. The Bahamian dollar is linked with the US dollar, so you can use US currency here. American Express, Diners Club, MasterCard and Visa are widely accepted and ATMs are widely available on the major islands. However, if you are just visiting the cays, it is best to bring cash with you.
Tipping
As a common rule, most restaurants in The Bahamas automatically add a 15% service charge to the final bill. Taxis in The Bahamas operate under a fixed government rate and drivers expect a 15% tip.
